Who We Are and How We Work
Sanam Pact is a Bangkok-based legal practice dedicated to consumer protection compliance and regulatory advisory in Thailand.
← Back to HomeFounded on the Belief That Compliance Should Be Understood, Not Just Completed
Sanam Pact was established in Bangkok with a clear focus: helping businesses understand and meet their obligations under Thai consumer protection law. The practice emerged from a recognition that many companies operating in Thailand — whether local enterprises or international businesses entering the market — often face compliance challenges that are not immediately obvious from a reading of the legislation alone.
Consumer protection in Thailand involves active enforcement by the Consumer Protection Board and related authorities. Regulations covering contract terms, advertising standards, and product labeling are applied in ways that require not just technical knowledge of the law, but practical familiarity with how agencies interpret and enforce their mandates.
Our team brings together legal professionals with backgrounds in regulatory practice, commercial contract work, and consumer dispute proceedings. We operate from our office on Rama IV Road in Bangkok's Khlong Toei district, which places us close to the commercial activity we advise on and the regulatory bodies we engage with on behalf of clients.
The name Sanam Pact reflects both the Thai context of our practice — sanam evoking a field or space for considered engagement — and the pact we maintain with clients: to provide advice that is accurate, considered, and genuinely useful rather than overstated or unnecessarily alarming.

Thai Bar Association Membership
All practising legal professionals at Sanam Pact maintain current membership with the Lawyers Council of Thailand, meeting professional conduct and continuing education obligations.
Client Confidentiality Protocols
All matter documentation and client communications are handled under strict confidentiality procedures, with secure document management and access controls applied throughout each engagement.
Regulatory Currency
Practitioners regularly review Consumer Protection Board guidance notes, court decisions affecting consumer law, and FDA regulatory updates to ensure advice reflects the current position.
Written Deliverables Standard
Every review and advisory engagement produces a written report. Verbal advice is followed with a written summary to ensure clients have a documented record of findings and recommendations.
Conflict of Interest Management
A conflict-check procedure is applied at client intake to ensure that engagements do not create situations where competing client interests could affect the quality or independence of advice.
Bilingual Communication Capacity
Services are delivered in English with Thai regulatory documentation referenced and explained clearly. Thai-language deliverables can be arranged where required for filing or internal client use.
Consumer Protection Compliance for Bangkok Businesses
The Thai Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and related legislation place specific obligations on businesses that contract with, advertise to, or sell products to consumers in Thailand. These obligations extend from the content and fairness of written agreements through to the accuracy of claims made in promotional materials and the manner in which consumer complaints must be addressed.
Bangkok's commercial environment includes a wide range of consumer-facing sectors — retail, hospitality, financial services, technology, health and wellness, education, and food production — each with their own regulatory touchpoints under consumer and product-specific legislation. For businesses operating across these sectors, understanding which regulatory frameworks apply, how they interact, and where enforcement attention is currently focused is a practical requirement rather than an abstract concern.
Sanam Pact's focus on this regulatory space means that clients receive advice shaped by active familiarity with the Consumer Protection Board's enforcement patterns, the Office of Consumer Protection Commission's procedures, and the courts that handle consumer disputes. That familiarity informs both the advice given and the manner in which it is delivered — clearly and with appropriate reference to the practical options available.
